Frequently asked questions about FLAMA Eyewear.

Find verified answers about FLAMA, materials, sizing, lenses, care, shipping, warranty, repairs and professional access.
What is FLAMA Eyewear?

FLAMA is an independent eyewear design brand working across optical engineering, product architecture and visual culture. It creates sunglasses and optical frames with a distinctive identity, technical service and a focus on durability.

What is FLAMA's MRS® system?

MRS® is FLAMA's mechanical architecture, designed to address premature wear, difficult repairs and functional obsolescence. Its mechanics are a visible part of the frame's technical language and support maintenance through Artefact Service.

Which materials does FLAMA use in its frames?

The collection includes acetate and titanium constructions, depending on the model. Each product page lists its material, colour, measurements and lens or frame type so you can compare verified specifications.

How do I know which glasses size I need?

The best reference is a pair you already find comfortable. Compare the three figures engraved on the temple —lens width, bridge and temple length, for example 50 □ 21 — 145— with those on the FLAMA product page. Two frames with the same figures can still fit differently because of bridge geometry, curvature and construction. A good size does not press the temples or the nose, does not slide, does not touch the cheeks when you smile, and keeps the eyes well placed within the rims. If you are fitting prescription lenses —especially progressive or high-power— an optician should adjust and centre the frame.

Which frame shape suits my face?

Face shape is guidance, not a rule: no silhouette is off limits. The useful question is not which glasses you may wear, but what effect you want —to balance your features, soften them, echo their geometry, or let the frame lead. Oval: takes almost anything; geometric shapes add contrast, curves add continuity. Round: rectangular, square, D-shaped or cat-eye add definition; circular shapes deliberately echo the softness. Square: round, oval, panto or aviator soften the angles; square frames underline them. Oblong: taller lenses and round, oval or aviator shapes break up the length; narrow frames emphasise it. Heart: fine, oval, round, aviator or moderate cat-eye balance a wider forehead. Triangular: cat-eye, butterfly, browline or a marked brow line bring presence to forehead and temples. Diamond: oval, round, cat-eye or browline soften the cheekbones. Many faces combine several shapes, and the final choice also depends on brows, cheekbones, bridge, the scale of the features and colour.

Are polarized lenses the same as UV-protective lenses?

No. UV protection refers to filtering ultraviolet radiation, while polarization reduces horizontal glare and may improve visual comfort. Always check each model's product specifications because one feature does not replace the other.

Can FLAMA optical frames take prescription lenses?

FLAMA optical frames are designed to take prescription lenses. Feasibility and lens type depend on your prescription, the frame design and professional optician judgement; check the product page and confirm the fitting with your optician.

How can I see the available colours for a model?

Each colour is a simple product with its own SKU and page. The product page shows thumbnails of related colours from the same model; selecting one opens that specific colour's page.

How should I clean and store my glasses?

Wash your hands and rinse the glasses under lukewarm water to carry away dust, sand or salt before you rub: a shirt or a tissue over a lens with particles on it causes micro-scratches. Apply a drop of pH-neutral liquid soap with no cream or citrus, clean both sides of the lenses, the bridge, rims and temples without forcing the hinges, rinse and dry with a clean optical microfibre. Do not store them damp. Never use glass cleaner, ammonia, acetone, solvents, abrasives or household alcohol. After contact with salt water, chlorine, sweat, sunscreen or hairspray, rinse with fresh water as soon as you can. Acetate is heat-sensitive: no dashboards, saunas, radiators or hairdryers. Put them on and take them off with both hands, and store them clean and dry in their case, ideally a hard one. Do not straighten them with heat or use an ultrasonic bath at home: the Artefact® Service inspects them and does the deep clean. A scratched lens is not cleaned away, it is assessed.

Can FLAMA eyewear be repaired?

You can open an Artefact Service request with the product, issue and available evidence. The team reviews every case before confirming diagnosis, coverage, cost, spare parts or the next step.

What warranty and returns does FLAMA offer?

If you buy as a consumer, you have 14 calendar days from confirmed delivery to withdraw from an online purchase, with no explanation needed and no return cost. Beyond that window you are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity of the country of delivery, which covers any lack of conformity —damaged product, wrong item, or a defect already present on delivery— and cannot be reduced by contract: three years in Spain and Portugal, two in France, Germany, Italy, Greece and Poland, and in the Netherlands the lifespan that can reasonably be expected of the product. In Spain, for the first two years the problem is presumed to have existed already; in the third year the burden of proof falls on the buyer. Purchases by opticians and companies are not consumer purchases and are governed by the commercial agreement signed with FLAMA. Each individual case is opened with the Artefact® Service and reviewed and resolved by a person.

How long does delivery take?

Estimated delivery times for in-stock products. Private customers: Spain 1–3 business days; Europe 3–5 business days; United States 3–10 business days. Professional customers: Spain 1–7 business days; Europe 3–10 business days; United States 3–10 business days. Europe includes the other EU countries, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Norway. Timing depends on the order's volume and characteristics. Delivery and terms are confirmed during the professional order review. The production time for made-to-order LAB frames is confirmed separately.

How can an optician request professional access?

If you are not a customer yet, complete the professional access request: it is a form, not a password screen. The team reviews the optician's profile, market and commercial terms before creating the account and assigning a B2B price list; sending the form does not activate access automatically. If you are already a customer, sign in with your professional account: your username is your customer email.

Which materials can an optician download from a professional account?

On B2B product pages, authorized accounts can download a consolidated technical sheet and a ZIP of product images for authorized commercial use. These downloads are not available in public B2C mode.
